The First Step to Self Esteem

As hard as the task of garnering self-esteem is, the only tools you need are a pencil and paper. The first step is to make a list of your ten top goals, and then arrange them by priority. Now look at the top goal. Be rigorously honest. Is there something in your power to achieve that you want even more than that goal? Be as selfish-- that is, as true to your self -- as possible. Once you've chosen your top goal, then make a battle plan, listing ten steps that will reasonably get you to your goal. Never let that goal out of your mind, even for a day. Cry out to heaven -- and friends -- for help achieving it. Pursue it as if your life depended on it.

If you choose to go for it, the self-esteem you get from pursuing this dearly--held goal will help you think more clearly about what it is you need to do next.
