Teichman, Rabbi Yisroel

Part of our Day of Learning: Becoming a Person of Simcha (Happiness)

As Americans, we are all equally entitled to the pursuit of happiness. But
as Jews, we are not simply entitled to its pursuit, we are told - even
commanded - to experience happiness.. to BE happy. Serve G-d with joy.
It is a great mitzvah to be happy all the time. You shall rejoice on your
festival. But how exactly does one become a person of simcha? How can
we overcome the challenges we all face? On a positive note, we would
never be commanded to do something which we are not capable of
accomplishing. Join us for this day of learning as we explore ways which
will help us achieve this elusive goal.
